Grace Stanton, 22, of Springfield, MO was pronounced deceased by Dr. William Comporon at Golden Valley Hospital about 1:20PM on May 21st. Stanton was involved in a car crash that took place around 11:56AM on May 21st on M13 at 3rd Street in Lowry City. Stanton was driving a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero at the time of the accident. She had a passenger, Joshua Thompson, 24, of Brookline, MO. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Golden Valley Hospital in Clinton.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D, the accident occurred as a 2007 International Tractor driven by Chad Long, 37, of Ash Grove, MO pulled into the path of Stanton's vehicle. Stanton's vehicle then struck the trailer of Long's vehicle.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Elan Adams and assisted by Sergeant Gary Riggs, Corporal Scott Richardson of the Crash Team, and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer Kenneth Williams.
