Princeton Man Dies In Car Accident

Denton Porter, 77, of Princeton, MO was pronounced dead at at Heartland Regional Medical Center by Dr. Chau Nguyen on March 3rd. The time of the accident was around 5:50PM on US 136, 6 miles West of Princeton in Mercer County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop H, those who were involved in the accident were Mr. Porter who was at the time driving a 2001 Dodge Ram and Amanda Mclain, 32, of Princeton, MO who was driving a 2006 Mercury. The accident reportedly occurred as Porter was traveling Westbound on US 136 and Mclain was Southbound on Route B and upon meeting at the intersection Mclain pulled into the path of Porter and was hit broadside. After impact, Mclain's vehicle overturned, crossed the intersection, and came to rest on its side just off the Southwest corner of the intersection. Porter's vehicle came to rest on its wheels at the Northwest corner of the intersection blocking the roadway.
Porter was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center by Life- Net helicopter and Mclain transported there as well by Life- Flight Eagle helicopter, she sustained serious injuries. This accident was investigated by Sergeant D.P. Little.
