Nychelle Goad, 19, of Diamond, MO was driving a 1997 Nissan Maxima when she was in an accident on March 14th at about 5:55pm on Route FF, 6 miles East of Joplin. Goad was taken to St. John's Hospital in Joplin where she was later pronounced dead by Dr. Hargroder. Also involved in the accident was Gerardo Perez- Gonzalez, 61, of Carthage, MO, he was driving a 1992 Buick LeSabre at the time of the accident. Perez- Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, MO. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D, the accident occurred as Perez- Gonzalez crossed the center line and struck Goad head- on.
The accident was investigated by Sergeant Mike Frazier and assisted by Sergeant Mike Bryan, Corporal Grant Hendrix and Trooper Tony Sandoval.
